Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read and understand the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements for insect resistance management, for the biotechnology traits expressed in the seed set forth in the Monsanto Technology/Stewardship Agreement that you sign. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those stewardship requirements.
Respect the Refuge® is a training and communications campaign that helps heighten awareness of Insect Resistance Management (IRM) requirements, as mandated by the EPA, when insect-protected traits are planted. The campaign’s goal is to provide tools that would help seed companies, dealers, growers and everybody else involved with insect-protected traits to help drive the use of refuges. The current tools available include reminder postcards, posters, logos, IRM tip boxes from university entomologists, Refuge Calculators and a Visual Impact Presentation on the spread and resistance of rootworm variants in the Midwest.

IMPORTANT: Grain Marketing and Seed Availability: Genuity™ SmartStax™ has received the necessary approvals in the United States, however, as of [date of printing], approvals have not been received in certain major corn export markets. Genuity™ SmartStax™ will not be launched and seed will not be available until after import approvals are received in appropriate major corn export markets. Rating Scale
Excellent = 9-10, Very Good = 7-8, Good = 5-6, Fair = 3-4, Poor = 1-2
Based on Specialty and Monsanto conducted trials. Ratings apply to product when grown in its area of adaptation and maturity zone and relative to other Specialty brand products.
Herbicide Caution
Ratings are based on observations and research using herbicides at and above the labeled rates to stimulate extreme environmental conditions, misapplication and adverse soil pH or organic content. |

• Risk management benefits of Roundup Rewards® (over $500 million paid to growers since 1997)
New Innovations
• Royalties provide research and development of new traits and higher yielding germplasm
• Monsanto is 100% committed to agriculture |
Soybean Seed Piracy
Seeds containing the Roundup Ready® trait are protected under numerous United States patents, including Patent Numbers 5,352,605 and RE39247. It is unlawful to save Roundup Ready® soybeans for planting or transfer to others for use as planting seed. Specialty Hybrids advises all its customers and dealers that saving seed from any Roundup Ready® soybean brand is in direct violation of United States patent law and may bring legal action by Monsanto that can result in crop destruction and/or monetary assessments, if found guilty in a court of law.

MONSANTO SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE USE OF THESE PRODUCTS IN ROUNDUP READY CROPS. Please note: To qualify for Roundup Rewards® benefits, labeled Roundup® agricultural herbicides are the only systemic, non-selective herbicides which may be used for burndown or in-crop applications on any Monsanto trait crop on your farm.
